Beehive Cheese Company - Prototype Fall 2012
How much do you know about Artisan cheese? This will be good for your palette and mind!
The game is a presentation of Beehive Cheese Company's different artisan cheese flavors, and wanting to teach the player about different cheeses, and what is appropriate pairings for those cheeses.
Different customers enter the store carrying different food items and you swipe at the bottom of the screen to choose the cheese that pairs the best with it. If you pair the correct cheese and item you increase your score, and if you pair incorrectly, you get a frowny-face. If you get three frowny-faces, the game ends.
The game was developed in MOAI, and there were three engineers focusing on software development. We split up tasks, and I worked on implementing UI elements for score, cheese types, the help section, and the twitter section. I worked on implementing their interactivity and updating their values. I worked on object movement for the characters/cheese, collision between them, and UI movement for the cheese at the bottom of the screen.
This prototype was built in 4 weeks and was a great time working with new people, working with a undocumented code base, and making a simple fun game.
